Anti-Slavery Statement



The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“the Act”) came into effect on 29 October 2015 and requires those entities carrying on a business or part of a business in the UK, to state the actions they have taken during the financial year to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in their operations and supply chains.

Datamatics Business Solutions Limited (“DBSL”) publishes this Modern Slavery Act Statement on its corporate website in the name and on behalf of Datamatics Group (“DBSL GROUP”) for the financial year 2019-20. The DBSL GROUP is made up of different legal entities in APAC, UK and USA.


Modern-day slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as forced labour, sex trafficking, involuntary servitude, the procurement of commercial sex acts and human trafficking, all of which force persons to work against their will in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. DBSL GROUP has a zero-tolerance approach to modern-day slavery.

DBSL GROUP’S commitment to human rights prohibits any act of human trafficking, slavery, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour throughout the organization, its business and its supply chain. To fulfill these requirements, DBSL GROUP has established and maintains systems and controls to ensure that slavery and related human trafficking do not form part of its operations. This policy does not form part of our employee’s contract of employment, and we reserve the right to amend, update and refresh this policy at any time.

This Statement made pursuant to Section 54 (1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, reaffirms our commitment to uphold human rights and sets out the steps we have undertaken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking do not operate within our business or our supply chain.

Datamatics’ customized solutions enable growth in top-line revenue through demand generation, quicker action using relevant and real-time database solution, enable tactical and strategic business decisions based on Research and Analytics, enhance operational efficiencies and financial control from spend analytics reports, achieve operational targets with compliance in taxation, drive multi-channel customer delight and accurate payroll processing through our iWebHR technology.


DBSL GROUP is aware of our responsibilities towards its clients and employees and expect all to adhere to the same ethical principles. We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our internal policies replicate our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

We regularly update our internal policies (viz. Code of Business Conduct, Supplier Code of Conduct, Procurement Policy and Human Resource Policies) to specify our commitment to respecting human rights and prohibiting slavery, servitude, forced labour, child labour and human trafficking. We have also implemented controls in place to ensure commitment to our policies. We conduct group wide risk assessment of various functions and also have implemented programs like improved responsible sourcing process by clarifying requirements from suppliers and launched a new risk assessment process to include advanced screening and audits.

DBSL Group provides every employee with written contract of employment. We pay every employee in accordance with the law. We comply with our legal obligations to ensure the health and safety of all of our employees and workers, including in relation to working hours, rest breaks and holidays are upheld at all times.

All our associates are required to read and comply with this policy, if they work for, or on behalf of DBSL GROUP in any capacity including as: an employee, director, officer, worker, consultant, volunteer, supplier or service provider or any other capacity not already mentioned.

Failure to comply with these policies may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal or termination of contract between the associate and/or DBSL Group. It could also involve other legal steps being taken against the offending party.


We have classified our suppliers into three major categories:

  1. Suppliers of People: This covers our contractors who work on our campuses/client projects and support our business.
  2. Supplier of Services: This covers our partners who provide essential services (such as catering, food and beverage counters, transportation, construction etc.) on our campuses.
  3. Supplier of Products: This covers our partners who supply products (such as IT hardware, software, electrical / electronic equipment, furniture, heavy equipment, stationery etc.) to us.

DBSL GROUP’s supplier engagement program integrates a program of continuing evaluation, capacity building and risk management with a focus on human rights and labour practices and regulatory compliance through ongoing periodic assessments done by both external and internal auditors and consultants. DBSL GROUP expects that these steps will encourage responsible behavior from our partners.


DBSL GROUP encourages and has in place a whistle blowing process that enables everyone, including partners, contractors and employees, to raise their concerns at a single platform with complete confidentiality. DBSL GROUP continuously evaluates its monitoring program to ensure all actions are consistent with industry norms, and it believes all efforts to date have been effective in preventing slavery and human trafficking from infecting its supply chain.

DBSL GROUP uses the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  1. Periodic in-house audits by internal audit team;
  2. Use of labour monitoring and payroll systems; and
  3. Level of communication and personal contact with next link in the supply chain and their understanding of, and compliance with, DBSL GROUP’s expectations.


To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to employees who are responsible for supply chain management and its suppliers. We also require our suppliers of people to provide training to their employees on their rights, including relating to wages, benefits and grievance redressal forums.

This Statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes DBSL GROUP’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the financial year 2019-20 as approved by the Board on 9th January,2019.
